Arriving in Germany
The apartment is the easy part.
Anyone moving here from abroad fails on the paperwork, not on the flat: registration office, landlord confirmation, a bank account, credit records nobody has yet. We explain all of it before you sign — in German and English. The rental contract comes in both languages.
Registering your address
Within two weeks of moving in you must register at the Einwohnermeldeamt. You get the landlord confirmation from us at handover — you do not have to chase it.
Renting without a German credit record
We do not ask for a SCHUFA credit record — nobody who has just arrived in Germany has one. For international students the security is the blocked account (Sperrkonto) that has to be set up for the visa anyway.
Contract in English
The rental contract is also available in English — you sign in a language you actually read, digitally and without an appointment on site.
Arriving before you have keys
Flights rarely match handover dates. Tell us your arrival date with the enquiry and we will arrange the handover around it wherever the schedule allows.
